1. Purpose of This Guide
This guide provides important educational information for patients receiving peptide or specialty injectable therapy through MediZen Revitalize L.L.C. Please review these instructions carefully before beginning treatment.
Understanding proper preparation, administration technique, possible side effects, and safety precautions helps maximize therapeutic benefit while minimizing risk.
This guide does not replace individualized medical instructions provided by your healthcare provider.
2. Required Supplies
You will need:
• Alcohol prep pads
• Sterile gauze or cotton ball
• Syringe(s) and needle(s) provided by the dispensing pharmacy
• Your prescribed medication vial or prefilled syringe
• Sharps container for safe needle disposal
• A clean, well-lit workspace
3. Preparing for Injection
Wash hands thoroughly with soap and warm water.
Gather all supplies and place them on a clean, flat surface.
Verify the medication name, dose, and expiration date.
If using a multi-dose vial, cleanse the rubber stopper with an alcohol pad.
Draw the prescribed dose into the syringe.
Remove visible air bubbles by gently tapping the syringe and expelling air as instructed.
Always follow the specific dosing instructions provided by your healthcare provider.
4. Approved Injection Sites
Peptide injections are typically administered subcutaneously (under the skin).
Approved sites include:
• Abdomen, at least two inches away from the navel
• Outer thighs
• Upper buttocks
• Back of the upper arms (if administered by another person)
Rotate injection sites to minimize irritation and reduce the risk of tissue damage.
5. Injection Technique
Clean the selected injection site with an alcohol pad and allow it to air dry.
Gently pinch the skin to create a fold.
Insert the needle at a 45–90 degree angle, as instructed.
Slowly depress the plunger until the medication is fully administered.
Withdraw the needle and immediately dispose of it in a sharps container.
Apply gentle pressure with gauze if needed. Do not rub the site.
6. Common Side Effects
These are typically mild and temporary:
• Redness, swelling, or tenderness at injection site
• Mild nausea
• Headache
• Fatigue
• Temporary appetite changes
If symptoms persist or worsen, contact your provider.
7. Possible Adverse Reactions
Seek medical evaluation if you experience:
• Rash or hives
• Persistent dizziness or fainting
• Shortness of breath
• Swelling of the face, lips, or tongue
• Severe abdominal pain
• Signs of infection at the injection site
8. When to Seek Emergency Care
Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department immediately if you experience:
• Difficulty breathing
• Throat swelling
• Chest pain
• Severe dizziness
• Loss of consciousness
9. Medication Interactions
Inform your provider if you are taking:
• Prescription medications, including hormone therapy, anticoagulants, or steroids
• Over-the-counter medications
• Herbal supplements
Certain combinations may alter effectiveness or increase risk.
10. Storage & Handling
Store medications according to pharmacy instructions. Some injectable therapies require refrigeration. Improper storage may reduce potency or effectiveness.
Keep all medications out of reach of children.
